Amsterdamse Broedplaats Plantage Dok bestaat 25 jaar! Dat willen we graag met lekker veel mensen vieren. Op zaterdag 16 december nodigen we je bij ons uit.
‘s Middags zijn alle ateliers open van 12:00 tot 17:00, rond 18:00 uur verzorgen onze in-house chefs van Taste Before You Waste een gezamenlijk diner en daarna gaat het feest vol aan met performances en muziek en de club is in de kelder. De entree is op donatie-basis.

25 Years of Plantage Dok!

Amsterdam’s oldest ‘broedplaats’ (creative living/working community) turns 25 this year! We invite as many people as possible to come celebrate with us on the 16th of December. All Dok-artists will open their ateliers from 12:00 til 17:00, at 18:00 there’s a dinner by our inhouse chefs from Taste Before You Waste and afterwards the mad festivities will kick off in Dokzaal and the Dokhuis Galerie with lots of live music and performances and a clubnight in the basement. Entrance is donation-based.

The Plantage Doklaan is a building located in the centre of Amsterdam that has served many functions in its life. It has been a church, a printing business and a school. In 1998 the building was squatted by a group of 10 people who themselves had much experience with squatting and collective awareness in Amsterdam. In 2000 the group bought and renovated the building with government assistance thus securing its future. The Plantage Dok is very much a collective project. It is a building that is run by the people who work there along lines of cooperation and equality. Everybody involved share the responsibility and are encouraged to bring forth their own initiatives. These days some 30 people are present in the building. They are concerned in many fields of activity. There are architects, visual artists, actors, political activists, crafts people, musicians and designers.
The (semi) public facilities of the building are a large hall The Dokzaal, a café and gallery space The Dokhuis Gallery and an artist in residence The Dokhuis Guest Studio. The Dokzaal is a communal space for activities inside the building and is also used by outside organizations for various cultural activities. The café/gallery is used for exhibitions and performances. See agenda for upcoming events.
